A special community gathering bringing together leaders, residents and distinguished guests from across the UK and Europe was held in Bolton during the holy month of Ramadan. The event, organised by Chairman Dr Liaqat Malik and Barrister Irfan Malik, combined a grand Iftar with the Aqeeqah ceremony of Dr Malik’s grandson, creating a memorable evening focused on faith, unity and community spirit.

The gathering welcomed a wide range of community representatives, politicians, religious scholars, diplomats and social leaders, reflecting the diverse fabric of British society. Guests included Members of Parliament, consuls from Pakistan and Iraq, respected community figures and individuals actively involved in social and cultural initiatives.

The event and welcomed guests while highlighting the significance of bringing communities together during Ramadan. This was followed by a recitation from Dr Ununas Paris, setting a spiritual tone for the evening.

The atmosphere was further enriched by soulful nasheeds performed by renowned Pakistani artists, which created a reflective and uplifting environment ahead of the Iftar meal. As guests gathered to break their fast, the event became a symbol of shared faith and friendship.

Several distinguished attendees shared brief reflections, emphasising the importance of community cohesion, interfaith dialogue and cooperation in modern society. The event was also attended by members of Dr Liaqat Malik’s family, who joined the gathering to celebrate the Aqeeqah of his grandson. Barrister Irfan Malik was present with his family, including his wife and their two children, making the occasion both a community and family celebration, Haqeeqa.

A special prayer for peace and unity was led by Imam Sad Maru Sha, who highlighted the spiritual importance of compassion, harmony and collective responsibility during Ramadan.

Beyond the religious aspects, the evening also celebrated cultural heritage. Guests enjoyed traditional Sufi music and vibrant qawwali performances, adding a festive and cultural dimension to the gathering.
